Training and other resources
Our Office offers free training to local government elected officials, managers and staff who want their organization to improve its performance, financial management, customer satisfaction and/or transparency.
Contact the Local Government Performance Center at (360) 725-5621 or email email@example.com to request training for your local government, or for information about already scheduled classes. Also, see "Featured Opportunities" below for more information about already scheduled classes.
Are you looking for the Online Training Library? It has moved to its own page, located here. New eLearnings are being added all the time, so be sure to check it frequently.
We value your opinions. Each year we offer free, three-hour roundtable discussions across the state (running early October - early December) on our Budgeting, Accounting and Reporting systems (BARS). Roundtables for 2017 will be scheduled and posted in September.
These BARS Roundtables are designed to listen to your feedback and suggestions and to make changes that we all will benefit from in the BARS. We also discuss the progress made on last year’s recommendations, such as upcoming changes in BARS (including online filing), the new Financial Intelligence Tool (FIT), upcoming GASBs, and introduce some new resources available to you.
Online Filing Workshops are also offered each year across the state (running late February - end of April). These workshops are designed to help local governments file their annual financial reports, and to meet the statutory requirement of submitting the report within 150 days of the close of their fiscal year. Online Filing Workshops for 2018 will be scheduled and posted late December or early January.
