About State Government Audits
We conduct accountability, financial, single and performance audits of Washington state governments.
State Accountability Work: In response to cuts in the state audit revolving fund, the State Auditor's Office has established a new framework for state accountability audits. Using a statewide risk assessment and planning process, we have shifted our focus to auditing and reporting on significant statewide issues, rather than individual agencies. Statewide issues may include, for example, benefit payments, grants and purchase cards.
Comprehensive Annual Financial Report: The State Auditor's report on the state's financial condition, published by the Office of Financial Management.
State of Washington Single Audit Report: The State Auditor's report on all state agencies' expenditures of federal grants, published by the Office of Financial Management.
Report a Known or Suspected Loss: State and local governments are required to report known or suspected losses to the State Auditor's Office.
