American Recovery and reinvestment Act
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is a federal effort to jumpstart our economy, create or save millions of jobs, and put a down payment on addressing long-neglected challenges so our country can thrive in the 21st century. Spearheaded by a Recovery Board, this Act contains built-in measures to root out waste, inefficiency, and unnecessary spending.
With the enactment of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, state and local governments will receive billions of federal stimulus funding. Our Office is committed to working with state and local governments to help make sure these dollars are properly accounted for and reported. In addition to providing grant accounting training to local governments, we work closely with the Governor’s Office and the Office of Financial Management to help address the accountability and transparency requirements of the Recovery Act.
Federal agencies are establishing deadlines and clarifying program criteria. Refer to the state's Recovery Act Web site for the latest information available on the Recovery Act and potential funding opportunities.
